He also emphasized that war only brings egocentrism, barbarism and the law of the jungle which leads to the destruction of life.

The cleric from Saudi Arabia also emphasized that at the R20 International Summit of Religious Authorities meeting, it was necessary to find a sustainable solution to resolve the conflict that occurred.

According to Sheikh al-Issa, the establishment of international organizations after the second world war, in several cases, was not followed up seriously. The conflict that occurred in Palestine is proof of this.

“All wars tell stories of human failure,” he said.

According to him, morals should be the basis just as religion is present in the world. Rasulullah SAW also emphasized in his hadith that he was sent in order to improve human morals to become noble.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, in his speech said that holding the R20 International Summit of Religious Authorities was an agreement between the network of world religious figures in R20.

“The religious leaders agreed to hold this forum and Nahdatul Ulama (NU) as the host,” he said.

The R20 International Summit of Religious Authorities forum raised the theme “The Role of Religion in Overcoming Violence in the Middle East and Threats to the Rules-Based International Order”. A total of 40 world figures attended this international forum. (AT Network)
