ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Aviation consumer agency AirHelp announced a list of the 10 worst airports in the world for 2023. Three of them are in Indonesia. This is stated in AirHelp’s Global Airport Ranking report which was accessed on Saturday, January 6 2024.

AirHelp uses three indicators in its assessment, namely the level of punctuality or on time performance (OTP), customer opinion, and the availability of shops and food (food and shops).

The three airports are Syamsudin Noor International Airport (Banjarmasin), I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar), and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (Jakarta).

Syamsudin Noor Airport received an OTP score of 5.2, customer opinion 8.2, and a food and shops indicator of 8. The final score of 6.39 placed this airport in the last position, namely 194. Meanwhile, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport achieved a punctuality score of 5.5, customer opinion 7.9, and shop and food availability 8.3. The final score of 6.55 earned him ranking 189th. Meanwhile, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport received an OTP score of 5.7, customer opinion 8, and availability of shops and food 8.1. The final score of 6.63 put the airport in 185th place.

The following is a list of the 10 worst airports in the world 2023 according to Airhelp:

1. Syamsudin Noor International Airport (Indonesia)
2. Malta International Airport (Malta)
3. London Gatwick Airport (England)
4. Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (Portugal)
5. Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (Serbia)
6. Ngurah Rai International Airport (Indonesia)
7. Toronto Pearson International Airport (Canada)
8. Sofia Airport (Bulgaria)
9. Marseille Provence Airport (France)
10. Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport (Indonesia).

Meanwhile, AirHelp’s version of the best airport in the world is Muscat International Airport with a total score of 8.54. The airport located in Oman was recorded as having a punctuality score of 8.4 with a customer opinion of 8.7 and a food and shops score of 8.9.

Then followed Recife/Guararapes-Gilberto Freyre International Airport in Brazil with a total score of 8.49. The airport has an OTP score of 8.5 with a customer opinion score of 8.4 and food and shop availability of 8.7. (ATN)
