ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Batam City, Indonesia is one of the favorite destinations for Singaporean tourists. This is illustrated by data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

In November 2023, Singapore tourist visits will reach 59.65 percent of the total number of foreign tourists visiting Batam.

BPS noted that the number of foreign tourists visiting Batam increased in November 2023 with a total of 100,866 visits.

This figure has increased by 25.79 percent compared to visits during October 2023 which only reached 80,189 visits.

Apart from that, the number of visits in November 2023 is also 25.04 percent higher when compared to the same period last year.

The increase in foreign tourist visits during November 2023 to Batam City occurred at the entrance to Batam Center Ferry Harbor, Nongsa Pura Harbor, Harbor Bay Ferry Harbor, Sekupang International Harbor and Hang Nadim International Airport.

Head of the Batam Management Agency (BP), Muhammad Rudi, appreciated this increase. This achievement cannot be separated from the efforts of the government and BP Batam to accelerate the development of supporting infrastructure for the progress of the tourism sector.

“This is a positive signal for Batam’s economic revival. “We must be united in maintaining this achievement so that Batam’s progress can be felt by all elements of society,” he said, Friday, January 5 2024.

He is optimistic that the increase in the number of foreign tourist visits cannot be separated from the comfort and safety of Batam City.

“Regional comfort and security are the main factors for tourists visiting Batam,” he added. (AT Network)
