Indonesian Humanitarian Aid Ship for Gaza Arrives in Egypt

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian ship KRI dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992 (KRI RJW-992) who is part of the humanitarian mission of the Egypt 2024 Port Visit Task Force carrying humanitarian aid for victims of the conflict in Gaza finally arrived at El-Arish Port, Egypt, Tuesday, February 13 2024.

The arrival of KRI RJW-992 was welcomed by Deputy Chief Mission (DCM) M. Zaim A. Nasution, Athan RI Cairo Colonel Kav Aria Sanggita Saleh, Asathan RI Cairo Major Mar Aji Purnomo, Athan RI Office Staff Waras Winarno, Indonesian Embassy Staff in Cairo, ERC Representative Ahmed Buhaeri Ali, Representative Ot. Port, and Shipping Agent Representative Mr. Nagib. The humanitarian aid was then handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC).

Task Force Commander Port Visit Egypt 2024, First Admiral TNI Sumarji Bimoaji, said that “This humanitarian assistance is a form of concern for the Indonesian government and people. It is hoped that this assistance can help and relieve the victims of the Gaza conflict.”

Currently the aid items are in the process of being debarked at El-Arish pier and will then be brought into Gaza via the Rafah border and distributed to the victims of the conflict.

Distribute Aid As is known, the Indonesian Navy has been collecting aid materials from the Indonesian people for civilians in Gaza since early November 2023.

The provision of assistance is centralized at the Jakarta Military Seaborne Command and the Surabaya II Fleet Command. KRI RJW-992, a hospital auxiliary ship belonging to the Indonesian Navy carrying 214 personnel, sailed from Jakarta on January 18 2024 from Kolinlamil Pier, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali. convey to all Jalasena soldiers who are carrying out a noble mission that the Indonesian Navy is committed to providing great benefits to Indonesian and international society.

“Including peace and humanitarian missions, as well as emphasizing to always maintain the good name of the TNI, especially the TNI Navy, nation and state in the international arena,” he added. (AT Network)
