ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia has named Helena Lim as a suspect in the corruption case in the trading system of tin commodities in the PT Timah Tbk Mining Business License (IUP) area for 2015-2022.

Helena Lim, who is also crazy rich from Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), West Jakarta, was immediately detained.

“Based on the evidence that has been found and after an intensive examination, investigators have concluded that there is sufficient evidence to determine the person concerned as a suspect,” said the Deputy Attorney General’s Director of Investigation for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office, Kuntadi, Tuesday, March 26 2024.

“Next, we will carry out an examination of the person concerned and for the purposes of the investigation we will detain him at the Salemba Detention Center for the next 20 days,” he said.

Kuntadi explained that in this case, Helena, as the manager of PT Quantum Skyline Exchange (QSE), is suspected of having provided assistance in managing the proceeds of the criminal act of collaborating on the rental of equipment for the tin smelting process.

“Where the person concerned provides facilities and infrastructure through PT QSE for the interests and profits of the person concerned and the other participants under the pretext of distributing CSR,” he said.

Meanwhile, Helena Lim claims to be innocent in the case. “I don’t know, I’m not wrong,” he said as he was led to the detention car.

In this case, Helena was charged with Article 2 paragraph 1 and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Crime Law in conjunction with Article 56 of the Criminal Code.

Previously, the Attorney General’s Office was investigating a case of alleged corruption in the tin commodity trading system in the PT Timah Tbk IUP area 2015-2022.

The prosecutor’s office suspects that there were violations committed related to illegal cooperation in managing PT Timah Tbk’s land with private parties.

The results of this management are then resold by the private sector to PT Timah Tbk, potentially causing state losses. (ATN)
