Taiwan Wants to Become a Destination for Indonesian Tourists

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Taiwan Tourism Administration Center in Jakarta on 7-9 June 2024, launched a surprise themed exhibition Taiwan-Waves of Wonder which combines creativity and fun with culture. This exhibition was held at Emporium Pluit Mall with the hope of increasing the number of Indonesian tourists visiting Taiwan.

By inviting 11 well-known travel agents, six airlines and one of the largest banks in Indonesia, namely BCA, to synergize and collaborate to promote and sell Taiwan’s most creative travel products and must be visited.

“Making Taiwan the main tourist destination for Indonesian tourists is a long-term goal. The variety of participants in this exhibition shows Taiwan’s great determination to continue promoting the market and changing the tourism era,” said a statement from the Taiwan Tourism Administration, quoted Saturday, June 8 2024.

The Taiwan Travel Fair was attended by national airlines – China Airlines, EVA Air, Starlux Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines. Also present at the exhibition were a number of travel agencies to create a more selective way of traveling to Taiwan.

Zhou Shibi, director of the Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Jakarta, said Indonesia has a population of around 270 million people – ranking fourth in the world, and the Muslim population has ranked the highest in the world in recent years, has encouraged the party to not only actively promote a Muslim-friendly environment , but also integrate sustainable development in Taiwan’s tourism circle.

The Taiwan Tourism Information Center in Jakarta is committed to promoting Muslim tourism, including providing information about various choices of Muslim gourmet restaurants. Taiwan also invites Indonesian tourists to undertake medical and health checks there, and other incentive trips.

Another interesting thing in Taiwan is agricultural tourism which is currently very popular. In Taiwan there is also the Taiwan Spring Festival, Hot Air Balloon Festival, cultural diversity of the Hakka and Aboriginal Tribe, as well as culinary tourism which is a shame to miss in Taiwan’s summer. (ATN)
