The Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, said that the party who attacked the National Data Center with the ransomware virus demanded a ransom of US$ 8 million dollars.
“Yes, according to the team they are asking for US$ 8 million,” said Budi Arie at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday, June 24.
Budi Arie revealed that the attack was a new type of ransomware virus from Lockbit 3.0.
However, immigration services have now been restored. Director General of Immigration at the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Silmy Karim, said that since Saturday, June 22, immigration services had been restored.
Immigration decided to move the data center 12 hours after the technical problem at the National Data Center of the Ministry of Communication and Information was identified.
So far, the autogate service system at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has been running smoothly on Sunday evening for both international arrivals and departures.
Not only at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, improvements to immigration services have also been seen taking place at other international airports such as Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali. (ATN)
