As announced by the oceanic and atmospheric agency NOAA, the Sun’s explosion on Monday, October 7 2024, resulted in a G4 scale heavy magnetic storm on Earth. The explosion is a large eruption of electromagnetic radiation from the sun that lasts for several minutes – hours.

The results of the BMKG geophysics team’s analysis show that over the next three days Indonesia will feel the impact of solar storms such as significant disruption to internet networks, including those using satellite systems such as Starlink.

BMKG urges the public to be careful in activities or transactions using the internet network, radio-based communications during the solar storm period.

Then, BMKG advised drone pilots throughout Indonesia not to operate unmanned aircraft because of the potential for loss of control, and the accuracy of satellite-based positions such as GPS would also decrease.

“BMKG will periodically continue to update information on this solar storm phenomenon to the public based on measurable observations and analysis as a reference for safety in carrying out daily activities,” he added. (AT Network)
