ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto congratulated Donald Trump on being elected as the 47th President of the United States.
Prabowo hopes that under the Trump administration, the US will remain a strategic partner for Indonesia.
“Sincere congratulations to Mr. Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States. Indonesia and the United States are strategic partners who have a strong and diverse relationship. Our strategic partnership has enormous potential for mutual benefit, and I hope to work closely with you and your government to further enhance this partnership and for global peace and stability,” wrote Prabowo on his official X account, @prabowo, Wednesday, November 6 evening.
Trump won the 2024 US Presidential Election after defeating Kamala Harris, who is the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party.
Based on a quick count by The New York Times, Trump, who is the US presidential candidate from the Republican Party, won 70,700,924 popular votes while his opponent, Kamala Harris, only won 65,846,569 votes. Of the electoral votes, Trump won 277 votes out of a total of 538 electoral votes. Meanwhile, Harris won 224 electoral votes.
Prabowo’s congratulations followed other world leaders who also expressed their congratulations on Trump’s election as the 47th US President.
Leaders from India, China, Pakistan, Israel and several other leaders have also congratulated Trump on Trump’s victory. (AT Network)
