Indonesia Calls for Israel’s Isolation: Withdraw its Membership from the UN

ASIATODAY.ID, RIYADH – The international community is urged to convey a joint call to expel Israel from the United Nations. This appeal was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Muhammad Anis Matta at the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)-Arab League in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, November 10 2024.

Anis expressed this call as a proposal for joint action to stop the genocide in Palestine.

“We urge all international institutions to isolate Israel and withdraw its membership from the United Nations, and not allow the war crimes and genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people (to continue) without consequences,” stressed Anis Matta.

Not only that, he also called on the world community to isolate Israel from the international community.

He considers this step increasingly necessary to ensure that the Zionist Regime accepts the consequences for disobeying the decisions and orders of the UN, the UN Security Council, and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip.

He also called on Arab and Islamic countries to reject all attempts to normalize relations with Israel and review diplomatic relations with Israel in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative which offers a solution to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Previously, Anis Matta also emphasized Indonesia’s solidarity with Palestine at the same forum. On that occasion, Anis called on fellow Islamic countries to strengthen solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people in a concrete way.

“The Palestinian struggle for independence was the basis for the formation of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation). That is why we are all Palestinian and must help the Palestinian struggle,” he said.

In his statement broadcast by MOFA, Anis emphasized the importance of real action by countries that are part of the OIC and the Arab League. This is to stop Israel’s never-ending oppression of the Palestinian people.

“Words must be immediately translated into concrete actions, including ensuring sustainable humanitarian assistance for Palestine,” he stressed. (AT Network)
