Indonesia Reaffirms Commitment to UN Peacekeeping, PMPP TNI Rotates MONUSCO Engineering Battalion

ASIATODAY.ID, TANGERANG – Indonesia has once again reaffirmed its commitment to global peace and security under the mandate of the United Nations (UN) through the ceremonial reception and deployment of the Indonesian Armed Forces’ Engineering Company Task Force (Satgas Kizi) serving in the UN Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).

Held at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, 22 June 2025, the ceremony was led by the Commander of the Indonesian Peacekeeping Mission Center (PMPP TNI), Major General TNI Taufik Budi Santoso, S.Hub.Int., M.H.I., who officially welcomed home the Satgas Kizi TNI Konga XX-U MONUSCO 2024 contingent upon completing their one-year mission, and simultaneously deployed the new Satgas Kizi TNI Konga XX-V MONUSCO 2025 contingent to the mission area.

A total of 173 personnel from Konga XX-U have returned to Indonesia, comprising 157 personnel who arrived in the country and 16 who remain on duty as the rear party to support the transition of the replacement force. Led by Lieutenant Colonel Czi Dili Eko Setyawan, S.Ak., M.Han., the unit had been carrying out peacekeeping duties in the conflict-prone eastern region of the DRC.

In his remarks, the PMPP Commander expressed deep appreciation and pride for the service of the peacekeepers:

“Welcome back home. There is no greater pride for a commander than to receive troops who have successfully carried out the nation’s mission with honour and returned safely.”

During their deployment, Konga XX-U achieved notable accomplishments, including the repair of previously inaccessible roads and the rehabilitation of Beni Airport, which significantly supported logistics and mobility for both troops and civilians. For their dedication, the contingent was awarded the Force Commander’s Coin of Honour by the MONUSCO Force Commander.

At the same event, 175 personnel of Satgas Kizi TNI Konga XX-V MONUSCO 2025, led by Major Czi Tommy J. O. Sunggu, S.S.T.Han., were officially deployed to the mission area. They are expected to serve amid a dynamic security environment, including threats from armed groups such as ADF, Maimai, and M23 in the operational area.

Major General Taufik offered a heartfelt message to the departing peacekeepers:

“Stay healthy, stay safe, follow all established protocols. Uphold your personal honour, the honour of your unit, and of the nation. And most importantly, pray and involve God in every aspect of your mission.”

The ceremony was also attended by officials from the Indonesian Armed Forces Headquarters and Services, senior officers of PMPP TNI, and representatives from the military spouses’ association IKKT PWA CBS XV. (AT Network)
