ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto led a Plenary Cabinet Meeting alongside Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Sunday, August 31, 2025. The meeting focused on strategic government measures to safeguard national stability amid the country’s current state of crisis.

Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, who was assigned to deliver the outcome of the meeting, emphasized that President Prabowo is closely monitoring the evolving national situation. The Head of State highlighted the importance of unity between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) as the main pillars of national security and public order.

“The President underscored the importance for the Indonesian National Police and the Armed Forces to remain solid, work hand in hand, and take concrete action to maintain security and public comfort for all Indonesians,” Sjafrie stated during a press briefing after the meeting.

Firm Instructions for TNI-Polri

President Prabowo also instructed security forces not to hesitate in taking decisive and measured actions against law violations. Criminal acts such as vandalism of public facilities or looting must be handled in strict accordance with the law.

“If incidents occur that threaten personal safety or involve the looting of private homes and official residences, officers must not hesitate to take firm action against rioters and looters, including those targeting state institutions that must remain secure,” Sjafrie stressed.

Strengthening Institutional Coordination

Beyond the TNI and Polri, President Prabowo also directed other state institutions to bolster coordination in safeguarding national stability:

The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) was tasked with continuously monitoring ground developments and reporting directly to the President at the earliest opportunity.

The Minister of Home Affairs was instructed to ensure smooth coordination between central and regional governments while closely monitoring the economic needs of citizens.

The TNI Commander and service chiefs were ordered to maintain territorial security and prevent the misuse of natural resources.

The National Police Chief and Attorney General were urged to expedite law enforcement against all forms of violations across the country.

National Stability as the Key to Economic Recovery

Minister Sjafrie also relayed President Prabowo’s message that national stability is the cornerstone of Indonesia’s economic revival.

“The President will always stand with the people in defending the nation’s interests. Let us uphold unity and solidarity to strengthen Indonesia’s economic recovery through the stability we build together,” Sjafrie concluded.

The cabinet session was attended by several top officials, including Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, BIN Chief Muhammad Herindra, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal Tonny Harjono.
