ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – PT Arsari Tambang, a subsidiary of Arsari Group led by Indonesian businessman Hashim Djojohadikusumo, is preparing to acquire a mining company in Canada valued at approximately USD 420 million. The move marks a major step in Arsari Group’s global expansion in the mining and natural resources sector.
PT Arsari Tambang President Director Aryo Djojohadikusumo said the acquisition process is currently in the negotiation stage and is expected to be completed by June 2026 at the latest.
“We’re still in the negotiation process, and it will likely be finalized next year. The acquisition value is around USD 420 million, and we aim to complete it by June 2026,” Aryo told reporters after attending Minerba Convex 2025 at the Jakarta Convention Center on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Aryo declined to disclose details about the target company, but confirmed that an official announcement will be made once the financial closing has been finalized.
“Once the financial closing is completed, we’ll make a public announcement,” he stated.
Supported by the Indonesia–Canada Trade Agreement (ICA-CEPA)
According to Aryo, this investment opportunity stems from the recently concluded Indonesia–Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA-CEPA). The agreement opens broader trade and investment opportunities between the two nations, including in the mining and energy sectors.
“This is a great opportunity for us to generate returns abroad while also contributing to investment growth in Indonesia. Beyond Canada, there are also promising investment opportunities emerging in the European Union and Africa,” Aryo added.
Arsari Group’s Global Expansion
The planned acquisition in Canada reinforces Arsari Group’s position as one of the leading Indonesian companies expanding globally in the mining and energy industries.
The group has previously been involved in various domestic mining and agribusiness projects, emphasizing strong adherence to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
With this USD 420 million acquisition plan, Arsari Group aims not only to broaden its international portfolio but also to strengthen Indonesia’s role in the global supply chain for strategic mineral commodities. (AT Network)
