ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA — The presence of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit held at the International Congress Centre, Egypt, on Monday, October 13, 2025, reaffirmed Indonesia’s position as a key player in global peace efforts.

President Prabowo represented Indonesia’s active diplomacy and concrete humanitarian actions toward global stability.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, President Prabowo’s participation in the summit demonstrates Indonesia’s consistent support for Palestinian independence and global peace.

“First is diplomacy. He has consistently delivered speeches at major international forums. Second, through concrete actions — from his time as Minister of Defense to now as President,” Teddy said in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Teddy emphasized that Indonesia’s growing role reflects the increasing respect and recognition it commands on the world stage.

“Under President Prabowo’s leadership, Indonesia is not just a spectator, but a key contributor and a shaper of history in Middle East peace, especially in Palestine,” he added.

Indonesia Reaffirms Support for Gaza Reconstruction at the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit

The Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit brought together world leaders to witness the signing of a peace and ceasefire agreement in Gaza, marking the end of prolonged conflict and opening a new chapter toward Middle East stability.

In his address, U.S. President Donald J. Trump stated that the agreement was the result of extensive collaboration among regional and global partners, including Indonesia.

“After years of suffering and bloodshed, the war in Gaza has ended. Humanitarian aid is now flowing — hundreds of trucks carrying food and medical supplies have reached those in need,” President Trump said.

He also emphasized the next crucial step — the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Gaza, supported by the international community to rebuild infrastructure, public services, and civilian life.

Indonesia’s participation in the summit underscores its strong commitment to humanitarian diplomacy and the constitutional mandate to contribute to world peace based on freedom, lasting peace, and social justice.

The Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit stands as a pivotal moment for the international community to strengthen collaboration toward a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Middle East, while reaffirming the spirit of global solidarity under leaders dedicated to peace — including Indonesia under President Prabowo Subianto.
