ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto welcomed Michael Bloomberg and his delegation to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.

The meeting followed up on their earlier dialogue during President Prabowo’s recent visit to New York.

According to a written statement by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the discussion centered on Indonesia’s efforts to enhance the quality of its human capital.

“One of the main focuses was improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources through cooperation in education, public health, and sanitation,” Teddy noted.

Michael Bloomberg — widely recognized for his global initiatives in public health — also shared insights from his experience in public office.

“Bloomberg offered his perspectives on public health policies from his tenure as Mayor of New York,” Teddy added.

Beyond human capital and health, the talks explored potential cooperation between Bloomberg and Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara). This collaboration, Teddy explained, aims to support programs dedicated to improving the well-being of Indonesian communities.

“The meeting also discussed opportunities for Bloomberg and Danantara to partner on initiatives designed to enhance people’s quality of life,” he said.

Both sides also touched on possible collaboration in marine conservation. Teddy emphasized that the meeting reflects Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international partnerships to achieve national development goals.

“This meeting reinforces Indonesia’s dedication to global collaboration in support of national development programs, particularly those focused on human capital development, public health, and environmental sustainability,” he concluded. (ATN)
