Saudi–U.S. Agree to Strengthen Strategic Alliance

ASIATODAY.ID, WASHINGTON — The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States reaffirmed their long-standing strategic partnership through a comprehensive joint statement issued at the conclusion of the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.

The visit, held from November 18–19, 2025, took place at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, reflecting what both sides described as a new chapter in the Saudi–U.S. strategic alliance. HRH the Crown Prince conveyed the greetings of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, which President Trump warmly reciprocated.

President Trump hosted Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House for the Saudi–U.S. Summit, where both leaders reaffirmed the “historic bonds of friendship” and their commitment to advancing cooperation across defense, energy, investment, technology, and regional security.

The Saudi delegation included senior ministers such as:

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy

Princess Reema bint Bandar, Saudi Ambassador to the U.S.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs

Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban, National Security Adviser

Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi, Minister of Commerce

Mohammed Aljadaan, Minister of Finance

Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF)

The U.S. side was represented by Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and several cabinet-level officials.

Strategic Agreements Worth USD 270 Billion Announced

A major highlight of the visit was the signing of a wide range of defense, economic, and technological agreements, including:

Strategic Defense Agreement

AI Strategic Partnership

Civil Nuclear Energy Cooperation Framework

Supply Chain Security Framework for uranium, permanent magnets, and critical minerals

Capital markets collaboration arrangements

Mutual recognition of U.S. vehicle safety standards

Education and training MoU

During the U.S.–Saudi Investment Forum, HRH the Crown Prince and President Trump witnessed the announcement of agreements and MoUs worth approximately USD 270 billion, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s expanding global investment footprint.

Strengthening Political and Legislative Engagement

Beyond the summit, HRH the Crown Prince met with Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson, as well as several senators and members of Congress, to discuss regional stability, economic cooperation, and long-term strategic alignment.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump also hosted a state dinner honoring the Crown Prince, attended by senior U.S. officials, congressional leaders, and top business executives.

Warm Farewell and Renewed Commitment to Shared Prosperity

At the conclusion of the visit, Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended by President Trump and the U.S. government.

President Trump conveyed his best wishes to King Salman, the Crown Prince, and the Saudi people, expressing hope for continued prosperity under the strengthened partnership. (SPA)
