Beyond co-production, the collaboration will bring experienced South Korean film professionals to work alongside Indonesian crews. Among them is renowned action director Yang Kil-yong, who contributed to the acclaimed film Oldboy, along with several other production specialists.

Troys Films Director Randy Chans said the partnership aims to unite top creative and technical talent from both countries to produce films with higher production standards and broader international appeal.

He declined to disclose details about the genre of the upcoming project.

Meanwhile, Chan ENM CEO Choi Woo Young highlighted Indonesia’s rapidly expanding entertainment industry as a key factor behind the partnership.

He noted that the country’s large young population and fast-growing digital content ecosystem make it one of the most attractive markets in Asia.

While the inaugural project will feature Indonesian actors, both companies indicated that future productions could include South Korean talent. They also expressed interest in expanding their collaboration beyond film into other areas of the entertainment industry.

Through this strategic alliance, Troys Films and Chan ENM aim to create content that resonates not only with audiences in Indonesia and South Korea, but also with viewers across the global market. (Silvia Andriani)
