They were accepted as Deputy President Derector of PT Ceria Djen Rizal, Director of Operations of PT Ceria Yusram Rantesalu, Security Coordinator of PT Ceria, Brigjen TNI (Purn) Andi Kaharuddin, Main Commissioner/external manager of PT Ceria Andarias P Batara.

The Military Commander’s delegation carried out repairs at the PT Ceria Special Terminal (Tersus) location in Babarina, Muara Lapao-pao Village. After that, a meeting was held at the Site Ceria Guest House.

On that occasion, the Director of Operations of PT Ceria Yusram Rantesalu expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Haluoleo Military Commander and Danrem 143 for the achievements made by their members in uncovering SOP violations, as well as logging in the PT Ceria IUP area.

The Military Commander, represented by Danrem 143 Haluoleo, Brigadier General Ayub Akbar advised the company to always maintain good relations with the local community.

“If a problem occurs, it should be resolved by way of deliberation, prioritizing communication or approaches, in order to avoid unwanted things,” he added. The Military Commander instructed all members of Hasanuddin’s team at PT Ceria to support the company’s activities and always put forward a good approach and communication with the community.

Ceria Smelter Project

As a national private company, PT Ceria is currently racing to complete the smelter project in that location.

The PT Ceria smelter which is being built will use 2 main technologies, the Rectangular Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) technology with a capacity of 4×72 MVA, consisting of 4 production lines to process Saprolite Nickel ore which is targeted for completion in 2024 and High Pressure Acid Leaching technology ( HPAL) to process Limonite Nickel ore (lower grade Nickel Ore) to produce electric vehicle batteries which are targeted for completion in 2026.

The total production capacity of the RKEF nickel smelter will be able to produce around 252,000 tons of Ferronickel (FeNi) with a content of 22% Nickel or around 55,600 tons of Nickel in it.

Meanwhile, HPAL processing will have a production capacity of 308,000 tons in the form of Mixed Hydroxide Precipitate (MHP), which contains 120,000 tons of nickel metal and more than 12,500 tons of cobalt.

This FeNi product can later be further processed to produce Stainless Steel and its derivative products (consuming needs).

Meanwhile, MHP is an intermediate product to be further processed into nickel sulphate which is the main raw material for battery precursors (cathode material).

PT Ceria is also currently conducting a feasibility study to further process FeNi into Nickel matte and Nickel Sulphate, as well as further process MHP into Nickel Sulphate. Furthermore, Nickel Sulphate from the 2 production lines will be processed into precursors which are the main raw materials for batteries (battery cathode and anode materials).

All industrial activities of PT Ceria apply the principles and rules of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). PT Ceria is committed to pursuing green production activities with the lowest possible carbon footprint.

Even PT Ceria will also implement a decarbonization program by participating in the carbon market by conducting carbon trading (carbon trading). (AT Network)
