ASIATODAY.ID, GAZA – The Israeli military must be held responsible for the destruction of civilization in Gaza, Palestine.

This is because indiscriminate attacks launched by the Israeli military have destroyed around 1,000 mosques since October 7, according to local authorities.

There are around 1,200 mosques recorded throughout the Gaza Strip.

“Reconstruction of the mosque will cost around $500 million,” Gaza’s Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs said, in an official statement.

Apart from destroying the mosque, more than 100 mosque imams were also killed as a result of deadly attacks in the area.

“The Israeli occupation continues to destroy dozens of cemeteries and dig up graves, violating their sanctity and stealing the bodies inside, in clear violation of international charters and human rights,” the statement said.

So far, there has been no comment from the Israeli authorities on the report. According to the statement, churches, office buildings, Koranic schools and a bank were also destroyed by the Israeli attack.

“We call on Arab citizens and countries as well as people with a conscience to take responsibility for the fate of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip,” the statement added.

Israel has continued to pound the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7, which Tel Aviv said killed nearly 1,200 of its citizens.

Meanwhile 25,105 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and 62,681 people have been injured, according to Palestinian health authorities.

Israel’s offensive displaced around 85 percent of Gaza’s population amid shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60 percent of the enclave’s infrastructure was damaged or destroyed, according to data from the United Nations. (AT Network)
