“In the future, it is hoped that collaboration will continue to run well, even better,” he said in an official statement, quoted Saturday, March 9 2024.

It was said that this collaboration opportunity would also be maximized for the implementation of environmental, social and governance (ESC) principles at KAI. Apart from that, through this agreement, KAI will also optimize training from US experts to increase competency and modernize KAI locomotives.

KAI and Wabtec have had a long history of collaboration and will continue to do so in the future.

To achieve sustainability of the 357 Wabtec locomotive units owned by KAI, a joint commitment between KAI and Wabtec is needed in maintaining the continuity of the maintenance process through the provision of spare parts and maintenance services.

“KAI continues to build collaborations with companies at home and abroad as a company commitment to reduce carbon emissions, mitigate pollution, and aim to care for Indonesia’s natural heritage for future generations,” explained Didiek.

On the same occasion, Wabtec President of Global Freight Services Alicia Hammersmith said that her party was very enthusiastic about this collaboration in order to maintain the performance of KAI locomotives.

Wabtec also offers digitalization to improve performance and maintenance such as Expert on Alert (EOA), Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic (RM&D), and KinetiX.

“We also plan to conduct training for KAI locomotive maintenance officers, either online or directly visiting Wabtec facilities in the United States,” said Hammersmith. (AT Network)
