ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Spain’s largest oil and gas company, Repsol, has finished auctioning the front end engineering design (FEED) for the Kaliberau Field project with the winner being PT Synergy Engineering as of May 24 2024.
Repsol itself has already completed the basic engineering design for gas processing and CO2 separation in April 2024 for the Kaliberau Field, part of the Sakakemang Block.
The implementation of the FEED tender was completed according to plans in the AFE, namely in the middle of the second quarter/2024. Thus, the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) and Repsol are optimistic that all FEED work will be completed by the end of this year.
Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communications Division, Hudi D. Suryodipuro, said that the development of the Sakakemang project was in accordance with the targets set. He hopes that the project which is currently in the FEED tender process can be completed until the FEED work is completed in 2024.
“For us, the progress of the Sakakemang project to date shows Repsol’s commitment to continue investing in Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas industry,” said Hudi in a press release, Friday, May 31 2024.
By appointing the winner of the FEED work auction, Repsol has proven a milestone of seriousness and commitment in carrying out the work. SKK Migas targets the development of this field to be onstream in early 2028.
“The positive development of the Sakakemang project also has broad meaning, because it is confirmation of Repsol’s commitment to continue investing in Indonesia,” he said.
Based on the revised POD I, the Kaliberau Field will produce gas reserves of 474.28 billion square cubic feet (BSCF) until the end of the contract in 2040. The total investment reached around US$631.7 million, consisting of drilling and completion costs of US$168.8 million and production facility costs of US$462.9 million. (ATN)
