ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The city of Jakarta needs a budget of IDR 600 trillion to become a Global City after the status of the country’s capital moved to the Archipelago Capital in Kalimantan.
According to the Acting Governor of Jakarta, this large budget is needed to support infrastructure development in special areas of Jakarta later.
“In the future, Jakarta remains committed to strengthening its role as a global city that is the center of economic growth in Southeast Asia. “To make this happen, Jakarta needs infrastructure development with a budget of approximately IDR 600 trillion,” said Heru at the 2024 Jakarta Investment Festival Summit, Friday, September 6 2024.
Meeting budget needs is certainly not easy, considering the limited regional fiscal capacity. Where, the Jakarta Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget is approximately only around IDR 80 trillion per year.
According to Heru, to cover the need for financing infrastructure development, his party continues to strive to ensure the investment climate in Jakarta remains fertile and friendly for investors.
“Regional fiscal capacity is approximately IDR 80 trillion. “This requires investment from within and outside the country to finance Jakarta’s development,” he concluded.
For information, the City of Jakarta throughout Quarter II/2024 recorded investment realization of IDR 62 trillion or reached 14.5% of the national investment realization achievement. Meanwhile, Jakarta’s investment realization reportedly contributed 16.54% to the Indonesian economy.
“The cumulative foreign and domestic investment in Jakarta Province in the second quarter/2024 period is IDR 62 trillion or 14.5% of the realization of national investment,” he concluded. (ATN)
