ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto will meet Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi from January 24 to January 26 2025.
“This visit will be President Prabowo Subianto’s first state visit to India which will also mark the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and India,” wrote MOFA, Friday, January 17 2025.
Prabowo will carry out the mission of strengthening the cooperation and strategic comprehensive partnership between the two countries which has been formed since 2018.
For the first day, Prabowo will receive a welcoming ceremony from President Droupadi Murmu at the Indian Presidential Palace Rashtrapati Bhavan. The next day, January 25 2025, Prabowo will continue his visit agenda by holding a number of bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House.
“President Prabowo is also scheduled to pay a visit to Raj Ghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi,” said a MOFA release.
Prabowo and Narendra are also scheduled to witness the exchange of a number of Memoranda of Understanding between the governments of the two countries in various sectors, including health, culture, education, maritime security and safety, as well as traditional medicine, which aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Closing his visit, Prabowo will attend the 76th Indian Republic Day celebration ceremony as chief guest.
For your information, Prabowo is the 4th President of Indonesia who was invited as chief guest along with a historic performance, namely a parade and marching band of 352 Indonesian military personnel who will participate in the parade commemorating India’s Republic Day.
“The Indonesian President’s visit to India confirms the strengthening and expansion of strategic cooperation between Indonesia and India, especially in the economic, defense and maritime sectors, since the two countries agreed to become Comprehensive Strategic Partners in 2018,” wrote MOFA.
