ASEAN Countries Fully Support Palestinian Independence

Palestinians return home to northern Gaza after the Israeli-Hamas ceasefire agreement. Special

ASIATODAY.ID, KUALA LUMPUR – Two countries from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Indonesia and Malaysia, are united in supporting Palestinian independence.

“Our Palestinian issue is on the same line. We continue to support Palestinian independence,” said Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in a Joint Press Statement with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Monday, January 27 2025.

President Prabowo said that Indonesia and Malaysia believe that the solution to the conflict in Gaza is a two-state solution. In fact, the two leaders both support the ceasefire that is taking effect in Gaza.

The ceasefire in Gaza, Palestine took effect on Sunday, January 19 2025. The aim of the ceasefire is to end the war conflict in Gaza which has lasted more than 15 months.

With the ceasefire in place, many Gaza residents can now return to their homes. They don’t care about the damaged condition of their house, as long as they return home. (AT Network)
