ASIATODAY.ID, KUWAIT CITY — The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuwait hosted a diplomatic reception to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day and the 57th Anniversary of Indonesia–Kuwait Diplomatic Relations.
The event was attended by H.E. Dr. Noura Mohammed Al Mashaan, Minister of Public Works of the State of Kuwait, as Guest of Honor, along with ambassadors, heads of missions, and distinguished guests from various friendly nations.
In her welcoming remarks, the Ambassador of Indonesia to the State of Kuwait, H.E. Lena Maryana Mukti expressed deep gratitude for the presence of the honored guests and reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Kuwait across multiple sectors, in line with the new development agenda under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.

“This year marks a triple milestone — the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence, the first year of the Red and White (Merah Putih) Cabinet under President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and 57 years of Indonesia–Kuwait diplomatic friendship,” the Ambassador said.
Indonesia’s Vision for a Golden Future: “Indonesia Emas 2045”
The Ambassador elaborated on the newly launched National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN 2025–2029), which forms the first phase of Indonesia’s Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision.
The plan outlines three key national priorities:
1. Reducing poverty and inequality
2. Improving human resource quality
3. Achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth
These priorities are reinforced by Indonesia’s active foreign policy and strong environmental agenda.
The Ambassador also extended warm birthday wishes to President Prabowo Subianto, who celebrates his 74th birthday in October, praying for his continued health, wisdom, and dedication to guiding Indonesia toward peace and prosperity.
Indonesia–Kuwait Cooperation: Energy, Food, and Education
This year marks the 57th anniversary of Indonesia–Kuwait diplomatic relations, established on February 28, 1968. Since then, the partnership has grown stronger in energy, food security, and education.
“Indonesia has a renewable energy potential of 3,700 gigawatts, yet only 15.2 gigawatts have been utilized. We encourage Kuwaiti investors to explore opportunities in Indonesia, especially in renewable energy, agriculture, fisheries, and tourism sectors,” the Ambassador explained.
Indonesia also promotes two-way investment — from Kuwait to Indonesia and vice versa — in sectors that align with both countries’ priorities.
In addition, both nations are exploring enhanced educational and cultural cooperation through student and teacher exchange programs and people-to-people connections.
Strengthening the Protection of Indonesian Nationals in Kuwait
Currently, over 6,000 Indonesian citizens reside and work in Kuwait, contributing significantly to sectors such as healthcare, oil and gas, hospitality, wellness, and manufacturing.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation to the Government of Kuwait for its cooperation in ensuring the protection and welfare of Indonesian nationals, in line with the 1996 Memorandum of Understanding on Labor Cooperation.
“We highly value Kuwait’s ongoing support in protecting Indonesian citizens. We continue to remind our community to respect and comply with the laws and regulations of the State of Kuwait,” the Ambassador emphasized.
Indonesia’s Global Commitment to Peace and Humanitarian Diplomacy
Reaffirming Indonesia’s long-standing non-aligned foreign policy, the Ambassador underlined that Indonesia continues to uphold international peace and justice as mandated in the Preamble of its 1945 Constitution.
She noted that Indonesia’s humanitarian diplomacy is reflected in President Prabowo Subianto’s participation in the Gaza Peace Summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on October 13, 2025, where Indonesia once again voiced its call for lasting peace and justice in Palestine.
“Indonesia remains steadfast in supporting global peace efforts and humanitarian causes. May peace and security prevail in Palestine, in the region, and around the world,” she said.
A Prayer for Peace, Prosperity, and Unity
The diplomatic reception concluded with a heartfelt Arabic prayer for the wellbeing of Indonesia, Kuwait, and the people of Gaza, seeking blessings of peace, prosperity, and unity for all nations.
“May Allah Almighty grant peace and prosperity to our two nations and to all humanity,” the Ambassador concluded. (AT Network)
