False Ceasefire: Gaza’s People Slaughtered as Thousands of Israeli Crimes Continue

FILE PHOTO: The West Bank of Palestine will remain standing even though it is attacked by Israeli crimes at any time.

ASIATODAY.ID, RIYADH – Claims of a ceasefire are once again collapsing under the weight of facts on the ground. Despite what is officially described as a ceasefire, Palestinians—particularly in the Gaza Strip—continue to face relentless violence.

Latest data show that 67 Palestinian children have been killed in Gaza, while thousands of Israeli crimes have been recorded across Gaza, the West Bank, and occupied Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) within a single week.

According to the Media Observatory of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) quoted Tuesday, December 23, 2025, the total number of Palestinians killed between 7 October 2023 and 22 December 2025 has reached 72,044, with 180,486 others injured across Palestinian territories.

Between 16 and 22 December 2025 alone, the Observatory documented 276 martyrs and 78 injured. This figure includes 243 newly verified deaths, 15 bodies recovered, and casualties across both Gaza and the West Bank.

In Gaza, Israeli occupation forces killed 14 Palestinians and injured 47 others, while the West Bank recorded four martyrs and 31 injured during the same period.

Gaza Under Fire as Schools for the Displaced Are Targeted

In the Gaza Strip, Israeli occupation forces destroyed two residential towers, shelled the Al-Samer junction in Gaza City, and bombed a school sheltering displaced civilians in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood—a move widely condemned as a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

Since the so-called ceasefire took effect, at least 67 Palestinian children have been killed, many in densely populated areas of eastern Gaza.

Humanitarian Crisis Deepens in Gaza

As bombardment continues, Gaza’s humanitarian situation has deteriorated sharply. Seventeen Palestinians have died from extreme cold, including four children, amid widespread displacement and the absence of adequate shelter.

The United Nations reported that 55,000 families were affected by recent rainstorms, while the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that 1,092 Palestinians have died since 2024 due to Israel’s refusal to allow medical evacuations.

WHO has warned of an imminent collapse of Gaza’s health system, citing severe restrictions on the entry of food, fuel, medicines, and temporary housing units imposed by Israeli authorities.

Raids and Home Demolitions Intensify in Al-Quds

Within one week, Israeli occupation forces conducted 336 raids across Palestinian cities and villages, arrested 165 Palestinians, and demolished 17 homes along with multiple civilian and agricultural facilities.

One of the most severe cases occurred in Silwan, occupied Al-Quds, where a 13-apartment residential building was demolished, leaving around 100 Palestinians homeless.

Israeli authorities also confiscated Palestinian homes for settler use and closed the “Noor Al-Quds” schools and kindergartens, forcing students to transfer without parental consent.

Palestinian Children Systematically Targeted

The OIC report highlights escalating violence against Palestinian children. In a single week: One child was killed, Eight children were injured, Four children were arrested.

Israeli settlers killed a Palestinian child in Bethlehem and assaulted school students in Yatta, Al-Khaleel.

To date, 1,650 Palestinian children have been detained, while the total number of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails has reached 9,300, excluding detainees held in military camps.

Settler Attacks and Land Seizures Escalate

During the same seven-day period, Israeli settlers carried out 62 attacks, including the burning of vehicles and farmland, theft of water tankers and agricultural equipment, destruction of olive and grape groves, and cutting electricity lines supplying Palestinian homes.

Under the protection of Israeli forces, settlers stormed Palestinian communities, conducted religious rituals, vandalized water infrastructure, and intimidated residents.

Settlement Expansion Accelerates Across the West Bank

Illegal settlement activity surged during the reporting period. The Israeli government approved the establishment of 19 new settlements across the central and northern West Bank, including Bethlehem, Al-Khaleel, and the northern Jordan Valley.

Israeli forces: Issued orders to confiscate 530 dunams of land near Jenin, Bulldozed 35 dunams of land and uprooted 400 mature olive trees, Expanded the Kfar Tapuah settlement and multiple illegal outposts.

These actions further entrench Israel’s settlement enterprise, widely deemed illegal under international law.

OIC Condemns Israeli Bombing of School for Displaced Civilians

In a separate statement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the Israeli bombing of a school sheltering displaced civilians in Gaza City, which killed seven Palestinians and injured dozens more.

The OIC urged the UN Security Council to: Put an end to all Israeli crimes and violations, Enforce a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire, Guarantee unhindered humanitarian access, Ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip.

The organization also called for the activation of international criminal justice mechanisms to prosecute Israeli officials responsible for these crimes and ensure accountability without impunity. (AT Network)
