“Indonesia’s contribution to peacekeeping forces can improve its reputation and position in the international community,” he explained.

According to him, the presence of the TNI is a form of strengthening diplomacy, in accordance with the TNI’s vision as stated in the main policy points of the TNI Commander in 2024.

Sending peacekeepers can also provide valuable training and experience. This can help improve a country’s military capabilities.

Additionally, it can provide access to equipment and resources that may not be available to a country such as transportation, communications equipment and medical supplies.

Another benefit is that sending troops is more efficient through cost sharing with partner countries. And more importantly for peace and security.

“The main benefit of participation in a peacekeeping force is its contribution to peace and security by helping maintain stability in conflict zones,” he explained.

According to him, peacekeeping forces can help prevent the spread of violence and improve peace and security. Even so, he emphasized that sending peace troops to Palestine was still waiting for a United Nations resolution and mandate. (ATN)
