ASIATODAY.ID, BRASILIA – Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva recalled his country’s ambassador to Israel, according to a statement officially announced on Tuesday.
In a government statement highlighting the dangers of the Israeli occupation, Brazil’s Foreign Ministry reported that Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira summoned the Israeli Ambassador, Daniel Zonshine, in Rio de Janeiro.
He added that the Brazilian Ambassador to Israel, Federico Mayer, who is scheduled to leave for Brazil, was also summoned for consultations.
The development of the situation occurred after the President of Brazil explained, in his speech at the African Union Summit (Summit) in Addis Ababa yesterday, that “what is happening in the Gaza Strip is not a war; but rather genocide.” (SPA)
