ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Indonesian Ministry of Defense stated that the KRI Dr Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992 (KRI RJW-992), which was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, Palestine from Indonesia, was sailing in the waters of the Gulf of Aden and would soon enter the Red Sea.
The Indonesian ship is planned to dock and dock at Al Arish Port Pier, Egypt on February 14 2024.
The Ministry of Defense said that initially KRI RJW-992 was scheduled to dock at Al Arish on February 9 2024, but was postponed due to general election activities in Egypt.
When humanitarian aid from the Indonesian people arrives in Egypt, it will be distributed to Gaza through competent authorities such as the Egyptian Red Crescent.
The Ministry of Defense also stated that when the KRI Dr Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992 was sailing towards Egypt, it encountered and passed with the KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 while crossing the Cochin Sea, India in the Indian Ocean, last week.
KRI Frans Kaisiepo-368 is an element of the Indonesian Navy which has just carried out a World Peace Mission under the flag of the United Nations (UN) in Lebanon.
The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali, conveyed to all soldiers that the Indonesian Navy is committed to always providing the best service in every task they are entrusted with.
“Jalasena soldiers must provide benefits to the Indonesian and international community, including in peace missions and humanitarian assistance as well as maintaining the good name of the Indonesian Navy, the nation and the country so that it remains fragrant on the international stage,” he stressed, in an official statement, quoted Thursday, February 8 2024.
As is known, the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto released the KRI Dr Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992 which was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, Palestine, at Kolinlamil Tanjung Priok Pier, North Jakarta, Thursday, January 18 2024.
The ship was released carrying humanitarian aid, such as food, clothes, blankets, milk, field tents, cleaning equipment, mineral water, and religious equipment.
Prabowo said that the hospital ship was being prepared, and what was being done now was to send aid first, such as logistical assistance, medicine and other humanitarian aid.
Prabowo emphasized that the humanitarian mission, led by Task Force Commander Admiral Bimo Aji, had made all preparations for security when passing through the Red Sea.
