ASIATODAY.ID, BALI — Indonesia’s luxury tourism sector is gaining fresh momentum as property developer PT Jaya Sukses Makmur Sentosa Tbk (RISE) begins the development of Vasa Ubud, a premium resort project with an investment value of IDR1 trillion (approximately US$60 million) in Bali.
The project highlights continued investor confidence in Indonesia’s tourism industry and reinforces Bali’s reputation as one of Asia’s most attractive destinations for luxury travelers, global hospitality brands, and international investors.
Located in the prestigious Ubud area, Vasa Ubud will be developed on approximately 7.39 hectares of land overlooking the natural beauty of the Ayung River. The resort is designed to combine international hospitality standards with Balinese cultural heritage and sustainable development principles.
Construction is expected to be completed within approximately 30 months, creating a new premium hospitality landmark in one of Indonesia’s most iconic tourism destinations.
“Vasa Ubud represents our commitment to developing premium property portfolios with international standards. We see significant growth opportunities in Indonesia’s tourism sector, particularly Bali as a world-class destination,” said Budi Agusti, President Director of Jaya Sukses Makmur Sentosa.
Bali Remains a Magnet for Global Tourism Investment
Bali continues to strengthen its position as a global tourism powerhouse, attracting visitors and investment through its unique combination of natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and premium lifestyle experiences.
The development of Vasa Ubud reflects a broader shift in Indonesia’s tourism industry toward high-value, sustainable, and experience-based tourism, as global travelers increasingly seek exclusivity, authenticity, and environmental responsibility.
Designed as a low-density luxury resort, Vasa Ubud will offer a private and immersive hospitality experience featuring: 41 private luxury villas, 128 premium hotel rooms, Fine dining facilities, Wedding chapel, Amphitheatre, Exclusive riverside spa village and Private helipad facilities.
The resort will provide spacious accommodation, with hotel rooms starting from approximately 48 square meters, targeting the growing demand for premium travel experiences.
Where Balinese Heritage Meets Contemporary Luxury
Beyond luxury facilities, Vasa Ubud is designed to showcase the harmony between modern hospitality and Bali’s rich cultural identity.
The resort incorporates the Balinese philosophy of Kaja-Kelod, representing the spiritual connection between the mountains and the sea.
The main building, The Sanctuary, will be positioned at the highest point of the development, while flowing water elements will connect the landscape from elevated areas to the valley, creating a natural balance between architecture and the surrounding environment.
The resort’s masterplan follows a modern interpretation of a traditional Balinese village, with terraced villas designed according to the natural contours of Ubud’s landscape.
Green roofs, integrated vegetation, and environmentally conscious design elements will help the development blend with its surrounding ecosystem.
Sustainability Shapes the Future of Luxury Hospitality
Sustainable development has become a key factor in global tourism investment, and Vasa Ubud is designed to respond to this growing trend.
The project combines luxury, environmental awareness, and cultural preservation — three elements increasingly valued by international travelers and investors seeking long-term opportunities in the hospitality sector.
Indonesia’s continued investment in tourism infrastructure, improved connectivity, and destination development is strengthening the country’s position as one of Asia’s most promising markets for hospitality investment.
With its strategic location, premium concept, and sustainable vision, Vasa Ubud is expected to become a new symbol of Indonesia’s ambition to compete in the global luxury tourism industry while reinforcing Bali’s role as a world-class destination. (AT Network)
