ASIATODAY.ID, TEHRAN – The Israeli military said air raid sirens were activated “a short while ago” in several areas across the country following the identification of missiles launched from Iran. Iranian missiles also struck Israel’s capital, Tel Aviv.
In a statement posted on Telegram and reported by Al Jazeera, the military said: “The Israeli Air Force is currently operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat.”
“Defense is not hermetic, and therefore it is essential for the public to continue following the Home Front Command guidelines,” the statement added, urging civilians to strictly adhere to official instructions.
A nine-story building in northern Israel was reportedly hit after an Iranian missile was intercepted, injuring a man who sustained light wounds from shrapnel of an interceptor missile. Israel’s Channel 12 reported significant damage to one of the apartments.
Israel’s emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), said in a statement: “MDA paramedics and EMTs have scanned several incident sites where reports were received. At this stage, they are providing medical treatment to a man in his 50s in light condition with blast-related injuries in northern Israel.”
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that all Israeli and US military targets in the Middle East had been struck “by powerful Iranian missile attacks.”
“The operation will continue without interruption until the enemy is decisively defeated,” the IRGC said, adding that all US assets across the region are considered legitimate targets by the Iranian armed forces.
The Iranian military also vowed to deliver a “historic lesson” to Israel and the United States following attacks on Iranian cities.
“As we have stated, any base in the region that assists Israel will become a target of the holy Islamic Republic and our armed forces, and we will not hesitate,” said Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, senior spokesperson of the Iranian Armed Forces, according to Iranian state-affiliated media.
