Iran Signals Full-Scale War Readiness Against the US

ASIATODAY.ID, TEHRAN — Iran has openly signaled its readiness for a full-scale military confrontation with the United States, rejecting President Donald Trump’s demand that it “make a deal” and declaring that the country is “200 percent ready” to defend itself against any American attack.

The warning comes amid sharply escalating tensions, after Trump threatened Iran with an assault “far worse” than last summer’s strike on its nuclear facilities.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that a “massive armada” of US warships is moving toward Iran, prepared “to fulfil its mission with speed and violence.”

He urged Tehran to accept a deal on the future of its nuclear program, warning that “the next attack will be far worse.”

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi dismissed the ultimatum, stressing that Iran would not respond with restraint if Washington strikes first.

“If Trump initiates an attack, Iran will deliver an appropriate response — not merely a proportional one,” Gharibabadi told reporters.

He warned that Iran’s retaliation could include US military bases across the region, and said Israel could also face serious losses.

According to him, Iran is not engaged in any negotiations with Washington, as its overriding priority is total military preparedness.

“Our main priority is to be 200 percent ready to defend the country,” he said.

Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations echoed the warning in a sharply worded statement on X, invoking the heavy cost of past US military campaigns.

“The last time the United States blundered into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, it squandered over $7 trillion and lost more than 7,000 American lives,” the statement said.

Mimicking Trump’s distinctive social media style, the post added:

“Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and mutual interests — BUT IF PUSHED, IT WILL DEFEND ITSELF AND RESPOND LIKE NEVER BEFORE!”

The confrontation has intensified as Washington reinforces its military posture in the Middle East. The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has arrived in the region, escorted by three destroyers armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles.

The US has also deployed F-35C and F/A-18 fighter jets, F-15E Strike Eagles, along with Patriot and THAAD air defense systems in recent days.

Iran has repeatedly warned Trump against “any miscalculation.” Over the weekend, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it was “more ready than ever, with a finger on the trigger,” vowing “painful” consequences for any aggression by the United States or Israel.

As rhetoric hardens and military assets converge, Tehran’s message is unmistakable: Iran is not negotiating under threat — it is preparing for the possibility of full-scale war. (RT)
