ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) of the Republic of Indonesia said that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) met the President of the United States, Joe Biden to convey Indonesia’s position on the situation in Gaza, Palestine.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lalu Muhammad Iqbal said that President Jokowi would emphasize Indonesia’s position when holding a meeting in Washington DC on November 13 2023.
“President Jokowi will convey Indonesia’s position regarding the situation in Gaza to President Joe Biden,” he said, in an official statement, Thursday (9/11/2023).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that President Jokowi will also hold a bilateral meeting with Joe Biden in the United States, on November 13 2023.
The bilateral meeting will be held after the emergency Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh.
“Because the bilateral meeting took place right after the OIC Summit, it is certain that President Jokowi will also convey the results of the summit to President Joe Biden,” he added.
He also said that as usual in bilateral visits, President Jokowi would also raise the issue of economic cooperation which would be one of the focuses of discussion.
As is known, President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the OIC Emergency Summit in Riyadh, on November 11 2023. The summit will focus on discussing the latest developments regarding the situation in Gaza, Palestine. Apart from that, Jokowi will also consolidate the joint efforts of the OIC countries to stop the current Israeli atrocities in Gaza. (AT Network)
