Hissein Brahim Taha, has expressed deep solidarity with both Indonesia and Thailand following the catastrophic floods that have caused widespread destruction, displacement, and significant loss of life.

OIC Stands with Indonesia After Deadly Sumatra Floods
In a strong message of support, on December 1, 2025, Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha conveyed his profound condolences to the Government and people of Indonesia after severe flooding struck Sumatra on 30 November 2025, triggering numerous fatalities and forcing large-scale evacuations.
He prayed for mercy upon the victims, extended heartfelt sympathy to bereaved families, and called on OIC Member States, humanitarian organizations, financial institutions, and international partners to urgently provide all possible humanitarian assistance.
According to the Secretary-General, such rapid support is essential to reinforce the emergency response efforts being carried out by Indonesian authorities.
Solidarity with Thailand: OIC Highlights Growing Climate-Driven Disasters
The OIC also expressed strong sympathy to the Government and people of Thailand following extensive flooding caused by heavy monsoon rains, which resulted in casualties and major damage across several regions.
