ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The elected President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, during his visit to the country, on Thursday, April 4 2024.
During the meeting, Prabowo stated that improving defense would continue to be a top priority in the future.
He emphasized that Indonesia will continue to improve good relations with friendly countries, especially with Malaysia and other ASEAN countries.
“Thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality,” Prabowo said to Anwar Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Anwar congratulated and expressed happiness over Prabowo’s superiority in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election.
“Hopefully the friendly relations between Malaysia and Indonesia will continue to be close and strengthened for the common good in the future,” he added.
After the meeting, Prabowo then held a meeting with Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin at the Malaysian Ministry of Defense office, Kuala Lumpur.
The two discussed a number of matters related to defense, security, peace and the commitment of both countries to maintain security stability in the region.
“Hopefully relations between Malaysia and Indonesia continue to be strengthened, and the region remains peaceful, stable and prosperous,” said Khaled.
Prabowo also conveyed the same thing, and he reiterated the commitment of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense to jointly create harmonious and mutually beneficial bilateral defense relations with the Malaysian Ministry of Defense.
On that occasion, Khaled congratulated Prabowo on his success in becoming elected President of Indonesia in 2024.
He believes Prabowo is a leader who is able to take relations between Indonesia and Malaysia to a higher level.
“On the occasion of this meeting, I would like to congratulate Prabowo on Prabowo’s success in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Election. I am sure that quite a lot of Malaysians have followed developments in the recent Indonesian Presidential Election,” he said. (AT Network)
