ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The panel of judges at the Corruption Crime Court at the Central Jakarta District Court sentenced businessman Harvey Moeis to six years and six months in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion, subsidiary to six months in prison.
The judge assessed that Harvey had been proven to have committed crimes of corruption in the management of the tin commodity trade system in the Mining Business License area at PT Timah Tbk in 2015-2022 and the crime of money laundering.
The judge also imposed an additional sentence on defendant Harvey in the form of an obligation to pay compensation amounting to IDR 210 billion.
“Sentencing the defendant (Harvey Moeis) to pay compensation for state financial losses amounting to IDR 210 billion,” said the chairman of the panel of judges, Eko Aryanto, when reading the verdict in the courtroom, Monday, December 23 2024.
Payment of replacement money is limited to a maximum of one month after the court decision becomes final or final.
If the replacement money is not paid within that time, the property will be confiscated and auctioned.
If Harvey, when he was convicted, did not have sufficient assets to pay compensation, he would be sentenced to two years in prison.
Harvey and a number of other defendants are said to have caused state financial losses amounting to IDR 300.003 trillion based on calculations from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency of the Republic of Indonesia.
This case was examined and tried by the chairman of the panel of judges, Eko Aryanto, with members Suparman Nyompa, Eri Usman, Jaini Basir and Mulyono Dwi Purwanto.
