ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia has officially named Hendry Lie (HL), owner of Sriwijaya Air, as a suspect in the corruption case regarding tin commodity trading in the PT Timah Mining Business License (IUP) area for 2015-2022.
Hendry was named a suspect in his capacity as beneficiary owner of PT Tinindo Internusa (TIN). Hendry is one of five new suspects named by the Attorney General’s Office.
Regarding this case, Sriwijaya Air management opened its voice.
Sriwijaya Air Group Corporate Communication, Zaidan said, Sriwijaya Air and its subsidiary, Nam Air, continue to serve their loyal customers amidst the issue of the tin corruption case which has developed in the past few days.
Zaidan said that his party continues to uphold professionalism in flight operations during this time.
“This does not have the potential to disrupt operational services on flights and ensures that it is implemented according to existing standards,” said Zaidan in his official statement, Wednesday, May 1 2024.
Zaidan said that his party appreciates the ongoing legal process. However, he again emphasized that the case had nothing to do with PT Sriwijaya Air as a different business entity.
Previously, the Director of Investigations, Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office, Kuntadi, said that in this case, Hendry acted as beneficiary owner along with other suspect Fandy Lingga (FL) as a marketing agent for PT Tinindo Internusa (TIN).
HL and FL play a role in conditioning the financing of cooperation in renting tin smelting equipment. To make it seem legal, the two of them formed two puppet companies. (ATN)
