ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that Indonesia is ready to receive guests and hold the G20 Summit which will be held on 15-16 November 2022 in Bali Province.

President Jokowi conveyed this after directly observing a number of places that will be used as locations for the G20 Summit, on Tuesday (11/8/2022).

“I have checked from this morning to the smallest points, we have checked everything and I want to state that we are ready to receive G20 guests,” said President Jokowi to the media crew at the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park (Tahura), Denpasar City. .

On the occasion, President Jokowi also explained that up to now there have been 17 heads of state/heads of government who have stated that they will be present at the upcoming G20 Summit in Bali. Among them are the President of the United States, Joe Biden and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

“That’s for sure 17,” said Jokowi.

Regarding the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President Jokowi said that the two leaders were still considering the situation and conditions in their respective countries.

“A few days ago I also made the phone call, spoke on the phone with President Putin and President Zelensky, he said he would attend if conditions allowed,” Jokowi said.

President Jokowi reiterated that the presence of heads of state and heads of government at the G20 Bali Summit this time was an honor, given the unfavorable world conditions.

“I think that in a normal position, 17 to 18 heads of state are usually present. Meanwhile, the current situation is not normal, the world is very difficult, all countries are very difficult, if the presence of heads of state reaches that number, I think it is also very good, very good,” said President Jokowi.

Also accompanying the President in the activity were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces General Andika Perkasa, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Bali Governor I Wayan Koster. (ATN)
