ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Coast Patrol officers reported a fishing boat sank in waters near Tongyeong City, South Korea on Saturday, March 9 2024.
A number of Indonesian citizens who were crew members on the ship were declared missing.
The fishing boat was carrying nine crew members, including seven Indonesian citizens.
The 29-ton ship sank in the morning in waters 68 kilometers south of the island in Tongyeong region, South Gyeongsang Province, Yonhap News reported.
Two crew members were found unconscious on board the ship and have been taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, the search operation for other members is still being carried out. South Korean authorities have not provided additional information regarding the nationalities of the other two crew members. (ANT)
