ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk or BSI will open a branch office in the Middle East region, namely in Saudi Arabia this year.

BSI Group Head Corporate Secretary & Communication, Gunawan Arif Hartoyo, said that his party had received approval to develop business in Saudi Arabia from the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

So far, BSI is still waiting for permission from the financial authorities in Saudi Arabia.

“Currently we are trying to obtain permission from the financial authority, namely the Saudi Central Bank,” said Gunawan in a press conference at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Jakarta, Monday, March 18 2024.

According to Gunawan, all parties from BSI are targeting the opening of a branch in Saudi Arabia to be realized in 2024.

“Hopefully the whole process can be faster,” he said. (ATN)
