ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA — Kana Cooperative has received two major recognitions at the Best Cooperatives Sustainability Performance Award 2026, strengthening its position as one of Indonesia’s cooperatives demonstrating strong economic performance and meaningful social contributions.
Kana Cooperative was awarded Best Cooperative in Economic Performance and Best Cooperative in Social Performance, recognizing its achievements in developing sustainable business operations, strengthening governance, and delivering greater value to members and communities.
The awards, supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and organized by Peluang Media Group, reflect the transformation of Indonesia’s cooperative sector toward more professional, innovative, and sustainable business models.
The Best Cooperatives Sustainability Performance Award 2026 evaluates cooperatives based on key indicators, including business performance, governance standards, regulatory compliance, innovation, organizational management, and social impact. All participating cooperatives were required to complete their Annual Members Meeting (RAT) for the 2025 financial year and maintain valid business and cooperative registration.
Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono said the recognition aims to encourage cooperatives nationwide to improve competitiveness through stronger governance, innovation, and technology adoption.
“This award is a positive step to encourage cooperatives to grow not only economically, but also through good governance, digital adaptability, and real benefits for members, communities, and the environment,” Ferry said during the opening ceremony of the Best Cooperatives Sustainability Performance Award 2026 at the Ministry of Cooperatives Auditorium in Jakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
He added that professionally managed cooperatives would gain greater public trust and play a stronger role in advancing Indonesia’s people-centered economy.
For Kana Cooperative, the dual awards represent recognition of its commitment to combining economic sustainability with social responsibility.
Jonathan Danang Wardhana, Chairman of Kana Cooperative and President Commissioner of Kana Group, said the achievement reflects the collective efforts of members, management, supervisors, and the entire Kana Group team.
“The spirit of mutual cooperation remains the foundation of our cooperative. However, trust today is also built through strong governance, professional services, and the ability to respond to changing needs,” Jonathan said.
He emphasized that the success of a cooperative should not only be measured by awards, but also by the positive impact created for its members and wider communities.
“For us, success is reflected in how many more members and communities benefit from Kana Cooperative’s presence. This recognition motivates us to continue improving performance, maintaining trust, and creating greater value in the future,” he added.
The achievement reinforces Kana Cooperative’s role as an example of how modern cooperatives can evolve into sustainable economic institutions — combining business resilience, responsible governance, and social impact to support Indonesia’s inclusive economic development. (Silvia Andriani)
