ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – AirAsia has officially started operating direct flights on the Hong Kong – Denpasar, Bali route.
The Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, welcomed the direct flight.
He said that connectivity was the key to increasing the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia, especially direct flights from Hong Kong to Indonesia which were highly anticipated.

“AirAsia flights are expected to attract more Hong Kong and international tourists to Indonesia, so that they can contribute to increasing foreign exchange from the tourism sector and creating more job opportunities,” said Sandiaga in his statement, in Jakarta, quoted Friday, October 4 2024.
Sandiaga explained that the airline would operate using an Airbus A320 every day.
For the Hong Kong – Denpasar route, use flight QZ301 which departs from Hong Kong at 06.55 Hong Kong time, and arrives in Denpasar at 11.50 WITA. Meanwhile, the Denpasar – Hong Kong route is carried out by flight QZ300 which departs from Denpasar at 00.45 WITA and arrives in Hong Kong at 05.35 Hong Kong time.
“We believe that in the future more airlines will open direct flight routes from Hong Kong, considering that the market trend for foreign tourists from Hong Kong is currently starting to increase. “Aside from that, Indonesia is a very popular destination for foreign tourists from Hong Kong, especially because of its natural beauty and cultural similarities,” said Sandiaga.
Deputy for Marketing at the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, emphasized the importance of direct flights from the countries of origin of foreign tourists to Indonesia, especially Hong Kong, which has become an international hub.
“Hong Kong is a hub in Asia and we hope that the opening of this new route will further encourage tourist visits from Hong Kong and other countries to Indonesia,” said Made.
