Indonesian Company Exports 50 Thousand Tons of Porang to China

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesian company, PT. Indonesian Commodity Agribusiness (Agrasi) agreed to export 50 thousand tons of porang chips per year to meet the needs of the Chinese company, GuangXi Huapin Agriculutral Technology, Co., Ltd.

“This collaboration between Agrasi and Huapin is not only related to the sale of porang flakes, but both parties are committed to developing the porang supply chain and downstream industry in Indonesia,” said the Director General of Agro Industry at the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, Putu Juli Ardika in Jakarta, Friday, 29 November 2024.

In the initial stage of this collaboration, as many as 21 small and medium industries (IKM) have received assistance with production facilities in the form of porang flake drying machines.

“The target is that in 2028 there will be technology transfer and production of glucomannan flour according to industry specifications in Indonesia,” explained Putu.

Previously, on January 4 2024 in Jakarta, the two parties also signed a cooperation contract in the process of buying and selling porang flakes for six years (2024-2030) amounting to 25 thousand tons per year. Furthermore, on November 26 2024, there was another agreement to increase buying and selling, from 25 thousand tons to 50 thousand tons per year.

“The increase in the number of exports of porang flakes is also accompanied by the facilitation of drying machines that will be used by SMEs in porang production centers,” said Putu. (AT Network)
