“The President, first of all, of course appreciates the large Japanese companies that have been in Indonesia for quite a long time. “They also reported updates on several ongoing investments and plans they will carry out in Indonesia,” said Rosan.

Rosan also explained that one of the main topics at the meeting was the continuation of the Masela Block project, which had been planned since 2000. JAPINDA expressed hope that the project could start running next year and was expected to be completed in the next few years.

“Because it will also have a huge impact on Indonesia,” he said.

President Prabowo also encouraged the involvement of Japanese companies in the Great Giant Sea Wall project, a major initiative to protect Jakarta from floods up to 600 kilometers long.

“We also hope for participation from Japanese companies because they are also construction companies. We also hope they can participate,” said Rosan.

Apart from the economic sector, the discussion also includes education and health. President Prabowo proposed establishing Japanese schools and universities in Indonesia as part of human resource development.

“The President also invited the opening of Japanese schools and Japanese universities in Indonesia because we have also opened several universities both in America and England. “So it is hoped that Japan can also participate and the response will also be positive,” said Rosan.
