ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – A significant surge in international passenger traffic was recorded at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr travel period.
According to data from the Class I Special Immigration Office (TPI) at Soekarno-Hatta, around 5 million international travelers passed through Indonesia’s busiest airport.
Head of Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office, Johanes Fanny Satria Cahya Aprianto, stated that the figure includes passengers entering and leaving Indonesia during the Eid homecoming season.
“This number shows a notable increase compared to the same period in 2024. Outbound passengers rose by approximately 11–12 percent, while arrivals increased by 8–9 percent,” Fanny said on Monday, April 14, 2025.
Top destinations and countries of origin included Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. “In addition to vacations, many passengers also traveled to perform the Umrah pilgrimage,” he added.
Meanwhile, total passenger traffic—both domestic and international—during the holiday period reached 3.3 million people, based on records from PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airport), Soekarno-Hatta branch. (AT Network)
