ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is intensifying its investigation into alleged corruption within PT Pertamina’s (Persero) gas station digitalization project. On Monday, May 19, 2025, KPK summoned Wisnu Kamulyan, Head of Legal at PT Telkomsigma, to testify as a witness in the case.
“The questioning took place at the KPK’s Red and White Building,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in an official statement, Monday, May 19, 2025.
Wisnu’s testimony is part of KPK’s efforts to uncover the role of private entities in the implementation of the IT-based project, which is suspected of involving legal violations. The commission has pledged to gradually release the investigation results to the public.
The case stems from a digital transformation initiative launched by Pertamina in 2018. The project aimed to modernize fuel distribution monitoring by installing digital devices at thousands of fuel stations across Indonesia, enabling real-time tracking.
To execute the program, Pertamina partnered with PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (Telkomsigma), a subsidiary of Indonesia’s state-owned telecommunications firm, Telkom. However, the project soon raised red flags, with allegations of corruption surrounding the appointment of vendors and procurement of substandard equipment.
KPK began investigating the matter in early 2024 and officially moved it to the investigation stage in September 2024. Several suspects have reportedly been named, but their identities remain undisclosed as no arrests have been made.
In addition to the digitalization project, KPK is also investigating alleged corruption in the procurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at Pertamina. This case is a development of an earlier investigation involving former Pertamina President Director Galaila Karen Kardinah, also known as Karen Agustiawan, who is currently serving a prison sentence.
The commission emphasized its commitment to pursuing both major corruption cases in Pertamina, which have caused significant financial losses to the state and disrupted progress in Indonesia’s strategic energy sector. (AT Network)
