ATLAS Officially Launched to Encourage Collaboration of Startups Eco-System in Asia Pacific

ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – A strategic alliance across Asia Pacific Region was officially formed at the launching of ATLAS (Accelerating Transformation & Linkage for Advancing Startups) on the sideline of Asia MirAI Day 2025.

ATLAS was present as a collaborative movement that unites the leading startup ecosystem enabler from Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, with a vision to strengthen regional cooperation and stimulate` innovations across borders within the Asia Pacific region.

Faye Wongso, Chairperson of KUMPUL and co-founding member of ATLAS, explains on Thursday (29/5/2025) in Jakarta that the inauguration of ATLAS has been held during the Asia MirAI Day 2025 in Tokyo on May 7, 2025. The event brings together ecosystem enabler, startups and investors from various countries to explore market expansion opportunities across Asia Pacific and Japan.

“In the midst of the changing of role of Asia in the global economy, KUMPUL continues to position education and ecosystem development as the main foundation. We believe, such collaboration is the main fuel to accelerate real transformation.

Through the ATLAS initiative, we are building strategic collaborations that pave the way for local founders to reach opportunities at the global level. This is part of our commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit in Asia Pacific and encouraging the creation of a more inclusive and impact-oriented global business landscape,” said Faye.

Each founding startup ecosystem enablerof ATLAS has a track record, spanning over a decade in supporting startup growth, accelerating innovation adoption, and facilitating collaboration between businesses, investors, corporations, and policymakers in Asia Pacific.

The inauguration of ATLAS was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the founding members as a symbol of their shared commitment to shaping the future of innovation in Asia Pacific.

The signing of the MoU was represented by:
– Faye Wongso, Founding & Chairperson of KUMPUL
– Kotaro Adachi, Co-Founder & CEO of TechShake
– Oranuch (Mimee) Lerdsuwankij, Co-Founder & CEO of Techsauce
– Cong-Thang Huynh, Co-Founder & CEO of InnoLab Asia ATLAS.

ATLAS is open to form collaboration with global stakeholders who have the similar visions in shaping the future of innovations in Asia Pacific.

To carry out its mission, ATLAS will carry out several key initiatives, including: Face-to-face Regional Convergence, such as conferences, strategic meetings, and delegation visits in the Asia Pacific region. Producing research and strategic thinking to guide the development of the regional ecosystem, up to conducting Global Market Access Acceleration Program, to help startups enter and grow in international markets.

In the initial stage of ATLAS’s establishment, the founding members of ATLAS formed the ATLAS Alliance Committee which has the main task to lay down the strategic direction and developing a roadmap for the growth of the alliance.

Then, in the second stage, starting in the second quarter of 2025, they will open opportunities for collaboration and membership with institutions or organizations that share a similar vision and meet the membership criteria.

Membership Criteria
To join ATLAS, potential members must demonstrate:
● A strategic fit and mission alignment in supporting startups, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
● Relevant industry expertise, including investors (VCs, CVCs, angels), incubators, accelerators, co-working spaces, innovation hubs, or government ecosystem supporters.
● A commitment to sustainability and long-term collaboration, including measurable impact in areas such as job creation, investment, and innovation programs.

It is said, ATLAS is open to establishing collaborations with global stakeholders who share a similar vision in shaping the future of innovation in Asia Pacific. Asia Pacific is now known as one of the regions with the greatest entrepreneurial and technology potential in the world. Each ATLAS founding country has its own advantages that can strengthen collaboration.

Indonesia is projected to experience economic growth of 5.2% in 2025 (World Bank & IMF, 2024), driven by the development of the digital economy and a broad digital consumer base.

Vietnam is projected to record growth of 6.6% (ADB, 2024), and has positioned itself as a technology and innovation-based manufacturing hub, and is increasingly recognized as one of the new technological hubs in the Asian region.

The Philippines recorded a projected growth of 6.0% (IMF, 2024), supported by the service sector and increasing adoption of digital technology. The startup ecosystem in this country is also strengthened through government-supported innovation programs.

Likewise, Thailand is estimated to record growth of 2.9% in 2025 (World Bank & IMF, 2024), which plays an important role in driving regional innovation through government-private collaboration, a digital transformation agenda, and leadership in building a technology ecosystem that can be developed widely and sustainably.
