ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – On July 3–4, 2025, Kana Cooperative held a leadership training program titled “Leading with Impact” at the MarkPlus Institute in Jakarta.
This event marked a pivotal moment for leaders from various Kana Cooperative branches—including Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Jambi—who gathered to equip themselves with the leadership skills necessary to drive the cooperative toward transformation and long-term success.
Leadership Skills as the Foundation of Success
The training centered around the theme “Leading Core Leadership Competencies,” focusing on the development of essential leadership skills. Participants were trained in a range of areas, including strategic decision-making, effective communication, and the ability to motivate teams to achieve shared goals. The program was designed to bridge the gap between leadership theory and real-world practice.
Argo Bramantyo, a facilitator from MarkPlus Institute, opened the session by sharing deep insights into leadership competencies. In this interactive session, Argo invited participants to explore real-life leadership experiences, emphasizing that strategic decisions and clear communication are vital to overcoming challenges within growing organizations.
The Importance of Leadership in Times of Change
Jonathan Danang Wardhana, Chairman of Kana Cooperative, emphasized that the training is part of a broader effort to strengthen leadership quality across the cooperative’s network.
“We want our leaders not only to understand leadership theories but also to master practical skills to tackle real challenges,” said Jonathan.
He also highlighted the training’s relevance in light of Kana Cooperative’s strategic plan, including its ongoing acquisition of a Rural Bank (BPR). This acquisition is expected to significantly impact the cooperative’s development.
“This training is very timely. We need leaders who can manage change and confidently move the organization forward,” Jonathan added.
Synergy with the Koperasi Merah Putih Program
In addition to internal capacity-building, the training aligns with the Koperasi Merah Putih program initiated by the Indonesian government, aimed at strengthening the role of cooperatives in the national economy. This program encourages cooperatives to become more self-reliant, competitive, and active contributors to an inclusive and sustainable economy.
As part of this movement, Kana Cooperative is committed to developing leaders who can meet modern challenges and guide the cooperative through a transformative, competitive era. According to Jonathan, the training represents a concrete step toward realizing this larger vision.
Leadership Transformation as the Key to Sustainability
Throughout the program, participants engaged in group discussions, exchanged ideas, and developed strategies to enhance their leadership abilities. They are expected to apply their learnings to advance Kana Cooperative, especially in navigating an increasingly complex and fast-changing world.
Beyond technical skill-building, the training also served as a selection forum for the new BPR Director. Kana Cooperative is committed to appointing a leader with a strategic vision who can steer the cooperative further in supporting the national economy through the principle of mutual cooperation (gotong royong).
Preparing Resilient and Visionary Leaders
This training not only equipped participants with new competencies but also underscored the critical role leadership plays in organizational success. Kana Cooperative recognizes that, in the face of future challenges, its success will depend heavily on leaders who can adapt, make strategic decisions, and inspire their teams through change.
With relevant content and experienced speakers, the training is expected to have a lasting impact on the personal and professional development of Kana Cooperative’s leaders. The organization firmly believes that strong, competent leadership is the key to realizing its bold vision of building a more inclusive and competitive Indonesian economy. (AT Network)
