ASIATODAY.ID, JAKARTA – A total of 100 children from Indonesia and the Philippines came together in the spirit of peace through art at the 7th International Loving-Peace Art Competition (ILPAC), held virtually, in Jakarta, July 12, 2025.
This annual event was co-hosted by the Jakarta branch of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) in collaboration with the Manila branch, under the inspiring theme: “Peace, Let’s Be Friends!”
ILPAC aims to encourage young people—especially children and teenagers—to express their vision of a peaceful world through creative artwork. For this year’s edition, participants were invited to visually interpret the question: “What can I or we do to achieve peace?”
With great enthusiasm, the young participants illustrated their hopes and dreams for a conflict-free world. Through vibrant colors and meaningful symbols, they conveyed messages of friendship, unity, and cross-cultural cooperation.
“This competition is not just about winning. It’s about giving children the courage to dream and the platform to share messages of peace with the world,” said one of the organizers.
Ahead of the competition, notable women leaders from the Philippines sent video messages to inspire the participants. Among them were Jenny Barzaga, Mayor of Dasmariñas, Cavite, Jeannie N. Sandoval, Mayor of Malabon, and Phanie Teves-Wong, Vice Mayor of Muntinlupa.
They praised the children’s passion and reminded them that the voices of peace must continue to be heard—especially from the younger generation.
