ASIATODAY.ID, SURABAYA — Kana Cooperative, through its subsidiary PT Kana Indonesia Industri, hosted Shaucha Fest Vol. 1 2026 on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the East Parking Area of Plaza Surabaya.
Designed as a blend of entertainment and community activation, the event marked a new outreach strategy to introduce the cooperative movement to younger generations, while also serving as the soft launch of Shaucha canned beverages in bird’s nest and date variants.
The Shaucha Fest stage featured performances by a number of prominent musicians, including For Revenge, Pamungkas, Jono Joni, Lala Widy, and Soul 5ive. Beyond the concert, the event also offered a fun walk with grand prizes such as a car and an Umrah pilgrimage, free health check services, and a booth area involving various stakeholders.
“Shaucha Fest is designed as an accessible entry point for young people to get to know cooperatives—not as a rigid concept, but as a movement that can grow alongside their culture: music, community, and shared experiences,” said Iliona Palomitta, Director of PT Kana Indonesia Industri, on the sidelines of the event.
She added that the initial launch of Shaucha represents a step toward introducing the cooperative ecosystem through a more modern and approachable platform.
As part of the program, the organizers also provided booth spaces for Village Cooperatives and Urban Village Cooperatives Merah Putih.
This initiative aims to broaden interaction between cooperatives and the public, while creating opportunities for grassroots cooperatives to showcase their programs, products, and services to a wider audience.
“By involving Village Cooperatives and Urban Village Cooperatives Merah Putih, we want local cooperatives to have the opportunity to step forward, build networks, and engage directly with the community. This reflects the core spirit of cooperatives: growing together through collaboration,” said Jonathan Danang Wardhana, Chairperson of Kana Consumer Cooperative.
From the government’s perspective, Panel Barus, Deputy for Cooperative Business Development, viewed Shaucha Fest as an example of how cooperatives can develop marketing channels and attract new members through approaches that align with youth lifestyles.
According to him, initiatives like this have the potential to strengthen the business side of cooperatives—ranging from expanding partnership networks and increasing transactions to encouraging the development of more competitive cooperative-based products.
“Activation models like Shaucha Fest demonstrate that cooperatives can enter spaces that resonate with the youth market. This is crucial for cooperative business development, because cooperatives are not only about institutional structures, but also about expanding membership, opening market access, strengthening brands, and creating competitive products,” Panel Barus said.
He added that collaboration with communities and businesses within a shared event ecosystem can serve as a gateway to expanding cooperative supply chains, connecting cooperatives with potential partners, and accelerating the adoption of more modern business models. (Silvia Andriani)
